That dry air is killin'
All the waves around
It's killin' all the invests
And taking cyclones to town
I got 'dem dry air blues........
Dry Air continues to be the story for the tropical Atlantic basin.
Combined with Saharan Dust, and you get what we have - very limited
tropical activity.
Mix in a few upper level lows, and the slaughter begins. Tropical
Depression Irene is being shredded by the ULL's to its north and south,
plus is grossly entrained with dry air. Irene may not survive the next 48 hours.
One little wave is in the Eastern Caribbean, and is fighting for its life as
it has a horrible case of the Dry Air Blues.
The ULL over the Bahamas is not going to develop into a tropical cyclone.
All in all, the Tropical Atlantic will remain quiet for the next 2-3 days.
