Is the bermuda high responsible for Irene being a fish?

This is the general tropical discussion area. Anyone can take their shot at predicting a storms path.

Actually it was the upper low over the SE states that eroded the western edge of the ridge and changed the orientation of the flow to more of south to north orientation.

The upper high is actually stronger than what the models had forecasted, however the models also underforecasted the upper low which ended up having a significant role in keeping Irene off shore.
