Energy from a couple of waves is in the area as well as an upper level low moving off WSW through the Gulf toward South TX/Northern Mexico. Some of the models have been progging some "bent isobars" and/or bulging around the Yucatan or Bay of Campeche later this week, but they were mostly not there in the 12z runs I looked at. The pattern should be there if anything gets spinning, but so far no go. It does appear there is some ridging over the blobs, but I don't see anything happening yet (if ever).
