Tropical Weather Outlook

Statement as of 5:30 PM EDT on August 18, 2005

For the North Atlantic...Caribbean Sea and the Gulf of Mexico...

Satellite images and reports from an Air Force Reserve unit
reconnaissance aircraft indicate that the area of low pressure near
the northern Leeward Islands...the remnants of Tropical Depression
Ten...has degenerated into a tropical wave. No significant
development of this system is expected over the next day or two.

Elsewhere... tropical storm formation is not expected through
Friday.

So, I guess this ends the T.D. Ten watch until this weekend. For now, the tropics go back to sleep. Just for a couple of days, anyway. :)

Hey, I just thought of something. Since the circulation apparently died, does that mean this will be considered T.D. Eleven if/when it forms?

The LLC died because of the surge of SAL that out ran it last night. I saw perfectly that this LLC had faded last night. The first time since Friday doe's the Quickscat show this not to have a Closed LLC. This had a closed LLC for 6 days. A powerful/defined one for 4 of those days.

I guest its time to start moving on. Lets see if something else wents to form.
