Very well done, Mike. And very good point about the historical perspective. My father, who grew up here on the Gulf Coast, told stories about how active the seasons were. Also, both my parents were stationed in South Florida during World War II. They had a couple stories about hurricanes affecting them and they were only there for like 3-4 years! So, yes, back to back bad seasons are very possible, unfortunately. Things could be very hectic in the coming weeks...

Take the Long Range GFS with a grain of salt but it has been showing these waves coming off, forming. One thing I will take from it is that it is increasing the pattern and bringing more convection off the Coast. That is a concern.
From what I see the CAPE VERDE season is about to get hot.
Another thing, all models form TD 10, so therefore do not write it off! If our BOC, TD 10, and Cape Verde storms form all in this week. That will bring us to Maria, which was Matthew in october last year!

Gkrangers,
Zack is an aspiring met and works for a New Orleans TV channel. I'm not quite sure what you're getting at.

My point is that we don't need the GFS to tell us to expect more action, since we're approaching the peak of the season.
You make it sound like I was attacking him or something.
