K new question how does this Hurricane season make you feel???

Well this is how it makes me feel.

I was looking forward to this hurricane season in May. At the very beginning of the season Arlene formed that really got my hopes up for this season. Then Bret formed, he was worthless because he Gert, and now Jose shouldn't have become named storms I think because they never lasted 4 days. I think they got very lucky while Irene, Franklin, and Harvey did not they deserved there name unlike Bret, Jose, and Gert and I think that the reason why this season is so agonizingly slow is because not of July but we got the taste of two good hurricanes ( I use that term lightly) to track and I think we got it to soon because now we are expecting more great (once again I use that term lightly) hurricanes to track so July didn't spoil us it is just that Emily and Dennis came to early so now like I keep saying we are expecting more like those two to track and alls we've had since then where two tropical storms that kept being exaggerated and eventually we lost hope in them. One hurricane that bored us to death before it strengthened into one so it went pretty unnoticed (by me at least) a wimpy TD that well I expected something from but just died out and Jose, which got lucky I think and became a named storm. This season is just 1933 and 2004 put together just started earlier. Because it seems to be like 1933 but we are also seeing lots of 2004. Also TD ten and other waves that have looked familiar and so on.

Well that is how I feel about this season how about you?

I was actually extremely excited, I was hoping for big canes' every time. Last year, I saw my first hurricane coverages on TV, though back in the day Hurricane Gabrielle hitting I watched John Zarella report from Galveston, Texas. Other than that, this winter I discovered the NWS and NHC, and I was looking so forward to one active season. Right about now, I still want more cane's(double life of the storm lover), I love to watch the awesome power on coverage. About major hurricanes, I don't ever want to see them again! Don't come around, you're not welcome here anymore! Even this year, I am still hoping for a cane'/tropical storm to track into southern Ontario holding out status of hurr. TS, much like Isabel which the centre went 12 kms south of Waterloo as a tropical storm back in 2003. That was fun, and I am still looking forward to the next. Katrina was bound to happen, so as an act of nature, I wont change my feelings for hurricanes, just the major ones because I have seen the raw force.

Well, considerring the way this season is going, I think it would be a wise wish to wish the remainder of the canes to be fish. Your neighbors to the south in the US and Mexico aren't having much luck in getting a minor hurricane for sightseers and fun experiences. With Dennis, Emily, and Katrina making landfalls in the US and Mexico as Majors, we dont need anymore AT ALL! Sorry to spoil your hurricane coverage entertainment but, May all remaining storms be fish! Though I am afraid you wills see plenty more death and destruction.

understand we didnt "build in the path", right on the coast is a different story, but hurricanes affect well inland, and people didnt build in the path of tornados, or flood paths, hurricanes affect many over a huge area....im not trying to get on to you or anything, but right now really isnt the best time for the "shouldnt be in the way" talk, not with the tragedy going on right now anyway

Ok, I think I might be getting at you all wrong. All I am saying is, I love the awesome force of hurricanes, and tornadoes for that matter. I have seen four tornadoes in my life, one came within 150 feet of this house, and I watched it from a bay window, but I couldn't move I was paralyzed with fear. What I mean is, just because people live in these regions with hurricanes, I wont let my love for weather just fade away from what can happen. People know the risks of what can happen, same for tornadoes, and when the reality of the big one happens I am not going to think oh boy, time to find a new interest and abandon the one I have had all my life. These things happen, people just end up in the way.

People will always be in the way, whether its tornadoes, blizzards, ice storms, mud slides, hurricanes. avalanches, earthquakes. tsunamis. droughts. heat waves, Wildfires. We as people are in mother natures way, but in some way, we all have to deal with it and it is unfortunate.

I never meant to come across rude and hope I didnt, Its just we as a nation are sufferring right now. This latest hardship (Katrina) has led to Local (NOLA, Gulf Coast) problems that could stretch to other parts of the Nation such as economic, resources, health/disease spread as dislocated are relocated, mental/emotional as we anticipate what may happen as this month comes the peak of the season and we dont fully know what to expect! Could it get worse?? Could there be more ground zeros around the coast?

But of course we all know that there are five places where if a hurricane hit, then the damages will be the costliest.

Personally I think that New Orleans (we already seen), New York City, and Tampa are the most dangerous, due to their unique geography.

5 TSs and 3 Canes, one of them a Cat.1, one a Cat.2 and one a Cat.4. One of them threatening the US Coast.

And that's my pessimistic estimate.

I went with 9. Take a look at the pulses we have across Africa today. I believe we'll have a slightly lengthened season this year, active into Late October. Not good.
