I think his Viper is broke. NHCWX just said on thier radio show that a definite westward motion has been established. Unless there's something that's gonna pull here immeditely north, the east coast seems highly unlikely.

"VIPIR" is great for real time radar analysis, especially during severe weather, but, from what I've heard, not too great with its model data at a very long range.
Have a VIPIR system here in my market, but they don't have the full integrated model suite with it so I've never personally seen that aspect of it.
