For the first time since 1916

There have been 3 major hurricanes in the GOM in one season

Katrina

Were are not even in Sept!!!!!!!! :grrr: Good chance this will not be the last major hurricane period.

It's also Storm #8 out of 11 named storms this year. That's borderline insane. I think I remember someone saying the record was 11 - could be another one we break this year.

FEEDER BANDS - :eek: :eek:

Kind of an inside joke at our house. Everytime one of on-camera mets says "Feeder Band", we all get really goofy and ominous as if the martians are coming. :D

Speaking of which, isn't mars supposed to be doing something spectacular tonight?
