Katrina IMO will miss its next forecast point......Interesting to see if it will make a sharp north turn.

I think what the poster meant was that it looks like she is a little south of forecast track which is true. Will she make the turn north soon ? time will tell.

What is true is she is only 2 or three hours from from being near that 12 hour forecast position. Which wil mean she made in 6 or 7 hours, way ahead of schedule.

I think at this point you can toss the models. Mother nature will do what she wants and all we can do is watch.

b/c the track has been impecible for 30 hours.

I'm still forecasting an east adjustment away from NOLA but I would not say the track isn't verifying b/c it is.

People need to remember that major hurricanes are like giant tops spinning on top of a ball. Wobbles and wiggles are normal. Overall I'd say the track is verifying and to say it isn't just isn't so. Fact is considering the power of this storm and it's size the entire cone is under the gone. Once again I'd caution people this is no time to listen to amateurs no matter how pure their motives.

And it was just east of it's prediction point just 2 hours ago. They don't move in straight lines. She looks now like she's well on her way to hitting the next forecast point.
