Terrebonne/Lafourche Parish only minor damage

#1 Postby cajungal » Mon Aug 29, 2005 2:01 pm

I just called back home to my neighbors and friends who decided to stay. They said they only had winds around 70 mph gusting to hurricane force. Only minor damage. Few power lines down, cable lines down and trees, and signs knocked down. Terrebonne and Lafourche are without power at this time. We are heading back to our home in Terrebonne Parish tomorrow.

Thanks for that, CG! Was wondering about LSU2001 since he's in Lafourche Parish.

Personally I hope that damage outcome is correct.. I'm sure it is.. But glad to see they may not have been hit too hard..

My uncle said he saw Houma on TV. It did not look bad at all. We really escaped the brunt on this one. Houma-Thibodaux was very lucky on this one. Just a tad bit more to the west, it would of been a lot worse. But, as I feel lucky, I am very sad to what my grandparents, uncle and cousin are going to have to face. They evacuated to central Louisiana. But, live in Picayune, MS. I am worried they may have nothing left to go home to. The NE quad passed directly over them. Picayune is near the MS/LA border.

cajungal --

Thanks for the check-in and update! I'm so grateful you have positive thoughts to share right now.

I've been concentrating on powerful affirmations particularly for you and other S2K-ers in Katrina's path (as well as, of course, for ALL those in harm's way) all day and will continue to do so.

Keep us posted.
