Devastation on MSNBC

They just showed video from a helicoptor they were flying in just before sunset. Showed area between Lake P and Ole' Miss River completely flooded. Levees overtopped. Showed one large breach in levee, water surging through. Showed many boats (some large) on top of levee. Total devastation. Looks like my area after Floyd, in fact.

Yep, looking at those pictures just sent chills down my spine. All too familiar scenes for sure.

if water is still surging through doesn't that mean the flood waters are still rising in some areas.

The 2 Baton Rouge tv stations ran this. We saw a complete view of the city. The commentator knew the areas and it was so surreal to see places you know completely flooded and/or the buildings destroyed.

That's what I want to hear. They keep showing it while talking to someone else on a totally unrelated subject, rather than describing the scene below.

Somewhere in East New Orleans... I think it's the same breach we heard about this morning.

If you think those images are bad, wait til you see what's left of the MS coast.

2 areas. One overflow in East New Orleans, another 2 block one completely failed on 17th street which has flooded most of upper central New Orleans.

No, this is a different breach, in a different part of the city. This breach is flooding downtown and neighborhoods to the north. This is so horrible.

No way to fix a breach like that. The water pressure flowing in is way too much to put anyting in to try and stop it.
