The bridge between NO and Slidell. They think it is "gone."

I figured this would be a big possibility. Surge from GOM / Lake Borgny into Lake Poncho was going to be too much for the bridge. Anyone know of any word on the causeway? Figure that may be out too since it cuts directly across the middle of the lake.

Doesn't use the word gone, but have heard from people I consider reliable that this was indeed said by the mayor on WWL TV. In addition, he says 80% of the city is underwater.

I also wonder about the lake ponchartrain causeway. That bridge isnt particularly high above the water.
