Missed Info??

#1 Postby gk1 » Sat Sep 03, 2005 8:59 pm

Power has just been restored and info was hard to come by. Can someone give me some info to the following questions:

1. What was Katrina'a wind a first and second landfall??

2. What was the Max Substained and Gusts in the Major Cities along the North GOM. (New Orleans Eastward).

3. What were the rain totals for Major Cities for N.O. eastward?

Thanks for any info???

1. 1st landfall-140 mph, 2nd landfall-125 mph(NHC estimates)

2. Gusts... I think 136 mph at Biloxi. Most of the instruments were knocked out before the worst of the storm arrived

3. Not sure

It's terrible... thousands are dead, thousands more are struggling, worst hurricane death toll since at least Galveston 1900 and the costliest one ever.
