CV Season May Have Just One More Chance
There is absolutely nothing in Africa for thousands of miles except one strong wave about the exit. It appears to be the last gasp for the CV season. After Sep. 10, chances of CV storms forming go down drastically based on climatology:

Thats true. We seen action form closer to home for the most part and the ones that did form out in the Central Atlantic all recurved out to sea.
We still could see some action in mid-late September if something pops up close to home and then we can look toward the Northwest Caribbean once we get into October.

good points. I still say CV season is dead. Keep in mind I"m not saying the SEASON is dead, just the CV season, and unless something comes along to change my mind, I have a right to that opinion.
.
Hehe, when I commented in August on how the CV season may not offer much this year, folks said, wait until September, now that it's September, folks are saying wait until October. What will they say in October?
...
I think what we have to be careful of is storms such as ophelia generating much closer to home..

I agree with ya Chris. Of course some people will turn around what we are saying acting as if we are saying "the whole season is dead", when in reality that's not what we are saying at all....

(does that make sense)
yes some of them have, but keep in mind the atmosphere was much, much more moist and there was pockets of convection everywhere. I remember what Africa looked like them and it was just a continent of convection, but now much of that convection is gone over the Atlantic, and is much more limited over Africa. So for example if one wave out of every 10 develops(which is about the way it is), then the chance of waves developing has diminished, because it's going to take alot more and alot longer for 10 waves to move off the the coastline.
