Still not sure what you mean by *ugliest*? Can't quite remeber what the DRY air situation was with Frances,or the satellite images of her, but I do know she was huge, and took forever to get here. She was about the size of our whole state, north to south. And a huge rain maker, our whole neighborhood was saturated, and we had to put a pool pump in the back yard to pump out the lake that was made there by her. So in my book Frances wins hands down.

IMO there is no such thing as an ugly hurricane in terms of satellite presentation.

The destruction they cause...that's another story. If you mean it that way I can name many.

Can anyone imagine what Frances would be as a large Cat 5 the size of Texas?

I agree, when I looked at the Satellite of the Atlantic, it didn't even look like a hurricane or even a strong tropical storm. I don't think anyone is worried so much about the winds with this one, but rain is the issue. Maybe it will remain below hurricane strength prior to hitting land.
It doesn't look like it's going to move very far inland.

I still think it looks like some kind of hybrid storm. A "Subtropical Hurricane," if there was such a thing.
