I'm not so sure about this intensity forecast; however, I do call for weakening as the track forecast as shifted farther west; therefore turning the flow across the north of Ophelia into flow through the storm, which should weaken it. I bring it to 50kts in 48 hours as an estimate--which assumes that the storm moreorless remains at hurricane strength for the next 24 hours. The possibility of a track forecast close to New England was brought up several days ago in one of the forecasts, and this track carries the system on a relatively close pass to the Massachusetts cape--which could result in tropical storm/gale conditions on Saturday.
