#1 Postby Vortex » Thu Sep 15, 2005 12:07 pm

Our system nne of PR now has another model indicating some development. 12z CMC places a closed low over the bahamas in 72 hrs heading towards S. FL.

12 GFS

#2 Postby Vortex » Thu Sep 15, 2005 12:17 pm

12 GFS also has a closed low near the Florida Keys in about 4 dys. I really think this system bears very close watching especially since the environment will become much more conducive in about 2 days. Also, most indications from the long range globals tend to threaten the W. Gulf after Florida.

Yes, Katrina had a VERY similar set up... But lets not scare people. Katrina isn't a *normal* occurence by any standards.

We just don't need this right now. There are still tons of debris piles everywhere that would become missiles with tropical winds.

I don't think anyone across the GOM needs this storm...Some are still cleaning up from last year/this year, the obvious mess from Katrina and to Texas who is full to the brim with evacuees..... ..Yup, these two would be welcomed fish storms by me....

With all of the media focused on NO, how easy it is to forget that S.E. Florida was also hit by Katrina and sustained damage. I've been so upset with the minimal coverage of MS and AL and almost forgot that my neighbors to the East are also recovering. Good luck to all of you.

Thank you Hurricane Queen :) We definitely weren't hit like N.O., AL, and MS were, but we still have a huge tree down by our entrance gate at my condo, and we have friends that are trying to fix their gates, etc. It's just a mess with all the debris piles around town and fences just propped up.
