Me too. For now. Anyway. I think it may be around the LA/Tx border. But, since it is still 5 days out, my opinion may change. I will get a better feel once it actually enters the gulf.

I am just not that great with all the locations on the Texas coast. I keep looking at the map, but I always manage to leave someone out. I am sorry.

BUMP. Anyone else needs to vote? The board has been so busy, this poll will keep dropping to the end of the forum.

I went for Galveston. Mother Nature has a habit of really dealing really crappy hands at times.

This year seems to be full of them.

Anyone changed their minds on where landfall will be or have not voted, yet?

Still saying Lake Charles, after further motion and entry to the GoM in the morning, I may slightly revise my personal prediction, but right now I remain confident in a Lake Charles area strike.

Really? Hmm...almost everyone is thinking Louisiana is totally in the clear. No one is even mentioning Louisiana much anymore. But, I know we are not in the clear. Not until she is way west of my latitude. TX/LA border seems like a possiblility.

Why is Corpus Christi and Brownsville lumped together? Wouldn't it provide a more accurate, though unscientific, means of gathering opinions? Would we be better served if we said Brownsville as one choice and Corpus as another?

I just put it on there as a general location area. I am not from Texas, and I don't know where every town is located on the Texas coastline. I can't possibly list every town and I am tired of looking at the map. Because no matter how many times I look at the map, I always forget somebody. The Texas coastline is the largest coastline on the gulf coast.

We're bigger than Texas in one department CG! :D Second to Florida, Louisiana boasts the largest coastline on the GoM at 639 km. / 397 mi., while our neighbors to the west run a close third at 591 km. / 367 mi.
All those bays and bends, plus Lakes Pontchartain and Maurepas actually cover a lot more territory than you'd think.

One thing Texans just might lead the nation in...big hearts...and we owe 'em eternally for their incredible outpouring of help over the last 3 difficult weeks. Wish that as a state, we were in healthy enough shape to reciprocate as much as they deserve if Rita lives up to the advance billing.

Proud to call myself an ex-Texan (Klein High School Class of '79!).

as of right now, with the current track and situation, i am going to say close to the texas/LA state line. if the storm slows down a good bit, i would have to say central LA. it is just to early to really tell.

I hate to say this, but I think you need to add NOLA to your option list.
