Rita rebuilding her self

#1 Postby Matt-hurricanewatcher » Thu Sep 22, 2005 2:43 pm

Rita looks like she is strengthing again. With the reds wraping aroud the eye. In the outflow/Cdo becoming better defined. The eye is clearing out. I expect it to become a cat5 again with a pressure drop. This was only a EWRC.

Question is will a strengtening storm mean more of a poleward progression. (Poleward Progression) + (Weakness in Ridge) = ?

DVORAK is back to Cat 5...

The pressure really doesn't need to drop, the winds just need to respond.

400 Miles at 9 mph is a long way though. What 44 hrs or so? Almost 2 days.

Agreed. I think this was just an EWRC and will intensify back to the 170-180 range if conditions permit. This is not going to be pretty, no matter the result when it hits land...
