Guatemalan devastation maybe the worst

The place with the most devastation I have visited before when I was a little kid. I know for fact I have relatives out there, but I have no idea who they are because the last time I saw them as when I as about 5 or 7 years old. The only remembrance I have are photos when we were in Tapachula and Atitlan. I was just in Tapachula some 4 years ago to pick up my dad who had non-hodgkins disease (cancer). Okay, gotta go gettint to emotional..

I must say that the salvadoran army did very well to evacuate more than a hundred thousand people from dangerous areas, this is quite an achievement considering the lack of resources that they have, as a result 65 people died in floods and mudslides, that's not too bad considering what happened to neighboring Guatemala.

It's sad however to see so much loss of life in CA and Mexico.

It's terrible what's happened in Central America...just terrible.

There's not much more that can be said except we're not seeing very much of it on the news...

Yeah I don't hear too much about it, except the occasional ten second segment on international news. Right now a lot of the international attention is on that earthquake in pakistan.

Interistingly a day before Stan became a tropical Storm El Salvador's largest volcano erupted killing several people and destroying thousands of coffee plantations. and just a few days ago we had a large earthquake measuring 6.2, although nobody died there was considerable damage to some coastal towns.

El Salvador is all too familiar to natural disasters.
