Data Buoy 42003 in Wilma's path:

#1 Postby pup55 » Sun Oct 23, 2005 7:21 am

current conditions: 27.2 kts wind
13.1 ft waves every 7.5 seconds

This buoy is still 272 mi away from the current storm location.
The storm will pass within about 182 miles from the buoy at about 3PM EDT

42014 directly in the path of the storm is not sending data.
DRY1F died on September 21 during Rita.

No wave height data for 42023,which is offshore between Charlotte and FtMyers

Too bad these bouys are down. It might tell us something of the surface conditions.

DRYF1...dry tortugas cman site would certainly have been helpful for ground truth...given the current forecast track, wilma will pass 20mi nnw of fort jefferson at 500am monday...in addition to losing this one, we also lost SANF1...sand key light, ssw of key west, during rita. as was mentioned in another thread, it would be good to develop survivable instrumentation for these important sites........rich
