Worse than Frances\Jeanne in Palm Beach as per PB County EOC

Listening to news conference before with the Director of the Emergency Mgmt he has been warned by NHC that this will be worse than either storm we were grazed by last year. I actually here in Jupiter see some folks here(A healthy 25%) have done NO hurricane preps. Hurricane fatigue or complacency, they will pay the price when that 50lbs tree branch comes blasting through that plate glass slider at 40 MPH.

I just listened to the Monroe County EMA director(or something like that) say that very few people have left the Keys, and that hospitals are now closed and there is limited medical help.

I'm afraid a lot of people are going to regret staying...

Key West may very well end up with a 5-8 foot surge, which would be very bad for the island.

Wouldn't an 8 foot surge completely submerge Key West?
