Season Cancel

#1 Postby johngaltfla » Mon Oct 24, 2005 3:01 pm

Ok, Mother Nature, we take the hint. But those of us on the Gulf Coast of these United States hereby ask for and declare a cancellation to the remainder of this season.

I also vote that anyone using the phrase "hunker down" from this date forward be taken out and beaten like a heathen.

LOL. When I saw the title of the thread, I was like "another one of those damned 'the season is dead' threads?" LOL - glad it wasn't. I'm happy you guys made it through the storm okay down there in SoFla and wish you a speedy recovery.

Our part of Florida is fine. Everglades City and Chokoloskee and Ft. Lauderdale are a mess from the reports I'm seeing.

I wish I could declare the season over, but I fear we'll see Vince kind of storms this season to suprise us even more.

And possibly after the official end of the season.

We really all just need to dump tons of ice into the gulf.

Daily.

It's time for hurricane season to end. We've had enough hurricanes this year to last our lifetimes.

Would be nice if we could cancel the rest of the season, but Mother Nature, given the mood she's been in over the last 2 years or so, would probably give us 2 or 3 hurricanes next season for every TS we'd miss by closing the season early.

Okay, listen up Mother Nature...

According to Robert's Rules of Order:
A motion has been made and seconded.
All in favor have said, "Aye."
Therefore... THE MOTION PASSES!!!!!

I'll admit, I wanted to see the activity, but now that we saw Alpha, I would be perfectly content if we saw no more storms. It's taking too much time away from my homework

Perhaps the tropical cyclone activity will finally come to an end with the demise of Wilma and Alpha.

However, I have to ponder what the winter will bring. Me thinks the ERN U.S. will see a very cold and stormy winter.
