BETA the eighth major hurricane?

NHC-Advisory at 4am:

BETA IS THE EIGHTH MAJOR HURRICANE OF THE 2005 ATLANTIC SEASON...

Is this correct? I found only 7 major hurricanes.

Dennis,Emily,Katrina,Maria,Rita,Wilma and now Beta,so yeah it is seven not eight as the NHc said,must be a mistake.

1950 with 8 is the only season with more majors :eek:

We can't rule out another Lenny or so, but may be this will be one record not broken in 2005...
