There seems to be some concern that everyone will leave the board when there isn't a 888mb Cat 5 bearing down on the U.S. Well, that's probably true. The high-excitement junkies will need to find something else to keep the adrenaline pumping. (Oh for those days of youth, how I miss them!!)
Some of us, however, like to calmly discuss weather during off season, and relax a bit, have time to contemplate things like effects of solar flares, etc. So we generally don't feel a let-down, only relief, when a busy season is finally over.
My opinion of the gazillion new 'name' games and all the polls and contests? I know, yes, it's fun! Hey, I am currently hosting a game myself. But I can't hardly find it anymore, it barely stays on page one at the end of the day!
Soooo - now don't FLAME me here, it's just one person's opinion! - but it seems a bit excessive to me. Why devise ways to slow down the board and increase traffic costs$$, just because Mother Nature has, expectedly, removed the seasonal excitement at the end of the season? It's normal during a big storm to get on the board and find 3 pages of posts in the past day, but I sure don't plan to wade through all that during off season.
JMHO, all comments welcome.
