Major Hurricanes Left in the Season?

#1 Postby quandary » Wed Nov 23, 2005 10:53 pm

Does anyone think that it is at all possible given the environment out there for a major hurricane to form between now and December 31st? That would tie the one record that 2005 has so far been unable to best. Unfortunately, or fortunately I guess it really shoudl be, there doesn't appear to be any place left this late in the season that would be conducive to a major hurricane. However, even in 1999, a major hurricane, nearly a Cat 5, Lenny, formed in mid-late November, so perhaps there's still a shot out there.

PS. Does anyone think Delta'll make it?

I see no chance for delta to become a major and only a very small chance for another major this season.

Contradictory statement.

He makes perfect sense and "attitude" posting is NOT appreciated. He is saying, in his opinion, delta is a write-off to become a major. He then adds to that, saying in terms of other storms forming and then becoming majors, there is only a very small chance. Which given the time of year is to be expected.

Correct, that's what I said.
