The un-named Christmas sub-Tropical Storm Formed.
A quote from Creedon's Storm History explains:
" ......On the morning of the 21st of December, an area of Low Pressure formed in the Gulf Of Mexico. The area meandered, and eventually struck Florida, near Ft. Myers. After moving across the peninsula, the storm hit the Gulf Stream, and accelerated northward. On the 23rd, the Storm was off of New Jersey, and had what appeared to be an "eye feature." On Christmas Eve, the system moved past Nantucket, and became absorbed into a larger Extratropical System on the 26th......"
