So where is the Disclaimer?

#1 Postby StormScanWx » Mon Jan 02, 2006 4:04 pm

This is what the 'Talkin' Tropics caption says on the main forum page.

As always this is the general tropical discussion area. Anyone can take their shot at predicting a storms path. All amateur forecasts will require a STORM2K disclaimer ( Disclaimer can be found at the top of the forum ) at the top for their forecast. This will be required this year to clearly notify readers that the information contained is from an unofficial amateur source

Can someone please post it? I really would like to see it, but it is not at the top of the forum.

Hmmm, good question. Maybe since it is now not hurricane season anymore the disclaimer isn't stickied anymore.

Anyway here it is, you can still find it at the US Wx Forum:

It is NOT endorsed by any professional institution including storm2k.org For Official Information please refer to the NHC and NWS products.

I stickied it again. It was probably dropped by accident, or maybe someone thought the season was over. They forgot to tell Zeta!!

Ummm.... I tried to find this in the Announcements forum, and the Board Rules forum, so could someone re-sticky that disclaimer, as I had to use the search feature to find this. It would be helpful. :)

I think the disclaimer was dropped since we all here at storm2k have become great forecasters! :P

EVERYONE should read the Storm2K Board Rules forum.. That is were Everyone is responsible to refer if needed. There is no excuse for not reading the rules. We can't be cluttering up all of the forums with information already located in the rules forum.

I think June 1st the disclaimer should be posted in Talking tropics like last year. Just less toggling from Board rules to talking tropics.

I agree, this would be helpful for the upcoming season.

Aside from everyone reading the Board News forum, everyone should check the Announcements forum often. That is where we will be posting announcements that affect the whole board, instead of repeating them in each forum. It is each member's responsibility to keep up with any announcements made in there, so try to make it a habit to stop by once a day, or so, to see if there's anything new.

Btw, Member of the Month voting is going on in there right now and ends Sunday afternoon, so stop by and cast your vote. :)
