Cindy was pretty powerful in New Orleans knocking down trees and tree limbs all over town. It was kind of a fun storm (can't remember if it was July 4th or 5th, but I was off that day) in that it was a lot of gusty winds (40's, 50's) and several inches of rain. My brother-in-law caught it in Port Fourchon and called me that afternoon. "Say brotha-in-law, it's raining up there?" "No." "Well it will be. We're getting hammered." If I remember, Cindy came in around the Grand Isle/Port Fourchon area and kind of sat down there south of Houma for a couple of hours before hooking off.
Btw, that's when I used to like storms.

Hmmmmmm a "fun" storm. It's too bad the same couldn't have been said
about that *itch Katrina. Man how I wish she would have significantly weakened before landfall.
