The Snow thing?

#1 Postby Javlin » Tue Feb 14, 2006 10:51 am

Last season this topic was brought up well before the season started what the effects of snow along the GOM region might imply for the upcoming season.I stated that we had snow along the MGC in 1985.1995.and 12/25/04.Lindaloo added the info of either 1973 or 1974 which the GOM season was dud for the most part. This year winter has thus far been mild and thank you.The last time it snowed on Christmas's day was 1954 in MGC a dead season followed there also.So now we are sitting at 60% with the last three being active.

What does all this mean maybe nothing just obs.For me I use it as an indicator of what we might see the following season in the GOM.I am thinking now it MIGHT be a an inactive season for the GOM maybe 2-3 systems.I only bring this up because I think it sets up some type of synoptic pattern later and these patterns are slow to change.I am not saying that a Georges type scenario could not happen.I just do not feel that it will be a 2005 for us in the GOM region in 2006.I am incline to think the the E. coast event this year and maybe FL peninsula some with a stray CV storm to maybe TX or such.Just my two cents
