Swirl over Yucatan

If you look at the visible this morning you will note a swirl of clouds over the eastern cental yucatan moving north. It may become interesting if it holds on and makes it into the gulf.

Most of the local mets around here are saying that it may just bring some well needed rain for this weekend. We certainly could use it.

GFS AND THE DGEX BOTH CONTINUE TO
COMPUTE THE UPPER LOW POSITION MOVING FROM THE SOUTHWEST GULF
NORTHEAST LATER THIS WEEK INTO THE WEEKEND MORE DEFINITIVELY. POPS
INCREASE TO 40 OR SO PERCENT OVER MUCH OF THE SOUTHERN CWA AND WE
COULD SEE THAT CLIMB INTO THE LIKELY CATEGORY WITH SUCCESSIVE RUNS.



Doesn't seem as though they are expecting a significant weather maker out of this but they do seem to think that it'll send some much needed precipitation N and NEwrd...as for further east over here in Panama City, they don't seem to think that we'll even get much rain out of this, 20%-30% at best...[/quote]

It looks like it's falling apart to me and getting swept away by a nice southerly flow.

Twirling and wobbling - sounds like me when I get out of bed. Interesting that there is something to watch in the GOM though.

Isnt there high shear in this area? Last map i saw this area had the highest shear around the gom and carb. orrect me if my memory is wrong.
