I get this sinking feeling its going to ramp up...

#1 Postby tgenius » Sun Jun 04, 2006 10:38 am

It is only the first week of hurricane season, but the conditions all over just don't favor any development for the immediate future. I'm just getting that sinking feeling (and no, it wasn't from dinner last night not settling right ) That come Aug/Sept/Oct the train of storms is going to be prevalent. I know I'm no expert and of course this is just my 2c.. :)

I'm content to wait until the 2nd week of August for Alberto to form.

It's not called a "sinking feeling" it's called "it happens most years".

Or a year like 1992 WITHOUT an Andrew storm.

I will definitely be ecstatic if we see no hurricanes until closer to fall! But I have a feeling that won't be the case.

First storm in 2004 formed July 31. As for 1992, Andrew formed in mid August. 2006 may be similar, with a late start.

well its just obvious that this season is going down in history as the least active ever! I mean it's already June 4th and we havent had a category 5 yet! this is just ridiculous!

(please note sarcasm :D)

seriously, I think that this season will resemble 2004. we will likely have a couple cat 4s and probably a cat 5 before the season is over.. but nothing like last year.

Slow start but enjoy it while it lasts! Wait until August and September, we won't be able to keep up! I can't wait to track the first storm of the season! Hurricanes will always be my greatest fascination in life and I will always be hooked. Just wish that they did not hit land and disrupt everyone's life. How can something so beautiful be so mean?

Yup, that wouldn't surprise me in the slightest. And as awful as it sounds... I've never experienced a hurricane. And i'd like to before I head [muchmuch] further inland for college. :( And college begins 3rd week of August. Sigh.

I don't think I would have any problem with a late start to season.

When all I see is highs in the 90's and lows in the 70's on the forecast like now I just know it won't be long. We would be so lucky as to have to wait until August..

It's not a slow start. It's only June 4th.

I'm hoping for all fishes myself. I like to track 'em, but they can be over the Ocean and I can still do that. :bday:
