Convective complex GOM bound........

#1 Postby MGC » Tue Jun 06, 2006 11:18 am

Pretty vigorous convective complex over Oklahoma this morning with a good deal of mid level spin. This complex is diving south and should reach the GOM later tonight. In the past several tropical systems have developed from complexes like this. I doubt anything comes of this but it will be something to watch if it hold together.......MGC

Looks reletively small on SAT lets see how it does once it moves into the GOM.

No rain in Houston area any time soon. It's either flood or drought.

Shear doesn't support development at all though.

It has been super hot and dry here. All of our grass is now like hay. I know we don't need anything tropical here but sure could use the rain. I don't remember the last time we had anything more here than a few sprinkles.

Tell it to make sure it passes over my house on its way to the coast!

postscript:
Checking the radar, I'm not too optimistic at the moment. The southern edge of the complex looks similar in intensity to the MCS that came SSE in the flow yesterday...it faded away with the sunset. Looks like they're getting some good convection up in Arkansas ATTM though, but that's still a long way off from here.
