A few weeks back I asked what you all thought and most of you said I shouldn't worry.
Now that this storm is going on...what do you all think?
As a reminder, I am cruising the week of June 18 through the Western Caribbean. We go from Port Canaveral Florida, to Haiti, to Jamaica, to Cozumel Mexico, to Grand Cayman, and back to Florida.
Will Alberto affect my cruise??

Alberto no. If any storm does, it would be a new storm (Beryl?).

Hi Here,
I read your post before, but didn't comment because I (nor anyone else) can guarantee you anything with the crazy storm seasons lately.
However, I can tell you (living six miles from Port Canaveral) that if you can GET here (Orlando International Airport is open) then you should have no problems.
You should monitor the weather (here on S2K), your cruiseline's website, and if a storm is possibly impacting, call the cruiseline directly for verification that they are sailing.
Port Canaveral has put a very strict policy in effect this year mandating that all boats/ships be out of port when big storms threaten. The big cruiseships have never needed a nudge to leave, but they may leave earlier than usual because of the mandate.
Bottom line, the ships will leave Port for safety before the airport shuts down so if you can get to OIA, and know your ship is waiting for you, you should be OK.
But again, the biggest factor is storms in the area and, unfortunately, no one can guarantee that none will be around next week.
Welcome to living on the edge and happy cruising!
