Maybe take a month off and spend it with family

#1 Postby boca » Tue Jul 11, 2006 8:15 am

Go on vacation or take a month off because in August it should get busy. It slow so take advantage of the nagging sibling that says your always on that computer looking at the weather"it won't change in an hour." Quote from my wife who just doesn't get it.

I agree I think the next few weeks will still be slow but by mid August it should be cranking pretty good - it's hard to break away from the computer though because we are all so into this stuff...

Nice idea boca, I agree!

We're going on a cruise on the 22nd to Cozumel, and when my wife saw me looking at this site Saturday, she said "I don't even want to hear it!!", then she said, "Didn't you get enough of that last year?".

They just don't understand

Going on a cruise on August 6 to the Eastern Caribbean...hopefully nothing decides to pop up around there during that time.

So true, I have to hide it from the hubby when I'm on here, he keeps telling me that I'm abnormal for following a hurricane's every centimeter of movement, :D

It's funny though, the same folks who are on your case for looking at the site when nothing is happening are the same ones who come begging for information as soon as the tv mets say the words "tropical system" or "upper level low" or sotto voce "we don't think there's anything to worry about" or something along those lines.

And when there's a real storm, forget about it......those same folks are begging you to get online and find out what's really going on, when and where the storm's going to hit, and my favorite (Derek, you're going to love this one!), what does Derek Ortt have to say.

yea, it's sure slow compared to last year, but I guess that's expected. ..Last year was freakish! I wish we would have had some fishy storms to track in July, but looks like it will be a short(but normal) cane season this year. I thinking they will get cranking by mid August and not let up until late September, unless it decides it wants to end early as well.
We should have 1 month to track storms anyway.

We shall see.

August 5th my parents want to go to Miami with a friend and myself. Maybe, just maybe, we'll strike it lucky... meaning there is a hurricane. As long as it isn't anything over cat 1/2.

Oops, -removed-.
