I have to wonder at what point do some of you stop being in denial about the ENSO influence here? Debbie...Ernesto....These are El Nino like conditions in the ATL basin.

The pre season hype was just that. The season is not over folks but the gloom and doom scenario is. Yes all it takes is one , like Andrew, but that is a whole lot different then forecasting 10 hurricanes or 4-6 majors.

Dr. Grays September update is due out later in the week. Looks like his August only forecast for 3 hurricanes and one of those being a major is going to be a bust. Looks like another 'lowering' of the numbers is in store.

The community as a whole need a serious revamping in both their methodology and their beliefs systems. Money needs to be allocated in other areas and it would be nice if the stigma of a closed earth system could be discarded. Space weather is clearly misunderstood and the public as a whole has no idea how this is being mishandled by the community as a whole.
