Did Anyone Notice the Pressure"

#1 Postby Downdraft » Wed Aug 30, 2006 6:38 pm

Sorry if this was mentioned in another thread I've been working all day and haven't had time to read the board. If I read it right Ernesto came ashore at 1007 mb. The last two pressures have both been 1001 mb. A tropical system that every so slightly strengthened over land? I must admit the storm has held together well, in fact, the radar presentation is better now that it has been all day. There have been other storms that have actually strengthened over land but to tired right now to remember them.

In Florida, storms don't usually strengthen, though sometimes they do over southeastern Virginia/North Carolina when coming from the southwest. Gaston '04, Danny '97, and Agnes '72 all strengthened from TD to Tropical Storm over that area.
