#1 Postby Dean4Storms » Sun Sep 10, 2006 6:30 pm

Starting to see some consistancy of models brining a low rider into the eastern Carib. late in the week.

That is probably the system that is currently SW of the CVI, being discussed here.

Haha, can't blame you. I actually wrote up a whole post with a decent length discussion on a system a couple of days ago, but didn't think about even looking for a thread on it until I finished. Of course, turns out there was one :P But that's September in the Atlantic for you . . .

Actually, the 18Z GFS does NOT take that system into the Caribbean.

The model turns the system northerly to North of Puerto Rico in the longer range.

I would only start worrying about it if there is some run-to-run consistency and more models show it. This is one 18Z run of the GFS. Not likely to verify.

There was one run of the GFS where it looked like Mr. Big Hurricane coming out of the Cape Verdes just comes along and eats this little thing up for lunch. It actually stopped in its tracks and went back to the east and was absorbed in to the cyclone that is about to move off Africa. This is one odd season- it's in a serious funk.

we thought last year was odd (well it was) but this season has just been plain weird...between lots of phantom storms (which happen every season) to systems just simply falling apart to storms that can pretty much not be forecasted by anything except God...reminds me of...well...me
