This is a tough forecast, but it doesn't seem that this storm will have the opportunity to get very strong. We'll pan out the details later--comments welcome as always.

Keep it staying out to sea; 60kts peak intensity for now.

This should become a hurricane, and I would certainly not rule out it reaching Category Two status for a brief period. Of course, this is no threat to any land masses.

Steady weakening through forecast period; probably sharper weakening in a day or so as strong shear kicks in followed by cooler waters in a couple of days. Extratropical by end of forecast period.

Slow motion; weakening, and extratropical before 72 hours.

This intensification is certainly unexpected but it's no surprise or shock.
