morning convection off Nicaragua?

could be. I am looking at it now. Looks to be a spin down there. Cant be sure until visable Sats are available.

The high that's above the gulf is causing the steering to go west, but the gfs has that high moving out and leaving the gulf exposed in 120hours.

This year I don't put to much stock in persistence especially in the Western Caribbean since we haven't had anything form down there things are still too hostile.

and for the EXACT opposite reason of your's I put my stock in the W. Caribbean - it has been too quiet there. Now it is really getting going. I don't like that blob down there one bit.

Are models still picking up on something down there they were a couple of days ago the GFS seemed to drop whatever was going on down there as of this morning.

It has been at least a week since I have seen any "surprise" emoticons in a post.

Gatorcane get a grip man. I now have real accordian hurricane shutters up I'm ready. The clouds down there are situated north/south. If this were are circular blob I'd be more concerned.

Starting to look suspicious in the general area around 18/86, IMO. Lots of convection down there.
