If this is El Nino why no rain in S FL
Why haven't we seen rain here in the last month or so. Its an El Nino year and so far the weather conditions here are simular to a La nina condition no rain. I guess the wetter and cooler conditions are not exactly true for South Florida during El Nino at least so far.

EL NINO WEATHER
From what I remember the effects of El Nino aren't felt till December- February. I remeber the 97 El Nino. Alot of severe storms hit I think on Ground Hog day. Here in Miami. My Honda Shadow toppled over in the wind. I think it peaked around 60mph where I lived then. I guess putting the cover on the bike was not a good idea. My handle bars got bent. Anyways that was a strong El Nino and I don't know what the strength of this El Nino will be. Have a nice winter. See ya next Hurricane season.

It's amazing what huge difference there is between S FL and here in the panhandle. After experiencing that storm system we got 2 days ago there's no doubt that El Nino is here.We had a tidal surge here in the panhandle that was just as bad as Arlene of last year, and there were trees and powerlines that were blown down by the wind.Luckily we did not get the flooding that the Houston area did, most of us saw 1-2 inches of rain.

Just to add to AussieMark's observations, October in Victoria is very much looking as if it may be well and truly the driest ever in the State's history.
We have clocked 1.4mm so far this month in Melbourne. The mean for October is 67.4mm, and the lowest previosuly recorded for the month was 7.5mm. A possible shower or two is all that is being suggested over the coming couple of weeks.
Cheers

I wonder what kind of affect this could have for you down the line. Hopefully you don't have exactly the opposite next year with above average. Hope you guys get some rain down there soon.
