Old boundary regenerating in Caribbean

#1 Postby boca » Thu Oct 26, 2006 8:35 am

Looks like the old frontal zone which brought the nice 50's at night is regenerating in the NW Caribbean south of the western tip of Cuba and east of the Yucactan. I don't think anything tropical will come of this but with the new front coming into Florida Sat should push whatever is down there towards Florida and give us much needed rain that we haven't seen since early Sept.

I think that area of convection in the Yucatan channel will head towards Florida on the backside of high pressure and the front causing a moist SW flow.

Dixie you beat me by 3 seconds on your post. I was about to post the same thing. Is that the old boundary or something tropical?

It does appear to be the tail end of that front...

There does seem to be at least some mid level spin associated with it also.

There also appears to be an Upper Level High over top of this area.

Let's see how long it lasts and what it looks like tomorrow.

yep, late night diurnal maximum looking good. Something that will get mentioned if it persists like this...Florida keep a eye in the background in it, at least maybe some rainfall heading our way.
