Does the Winter-like weather in Spring mean anything?
I don't know if there's a connection/correlation between the winter like weather the NorthEast is experiencing in the Spring and the hurricane season that follows it. Is there, or is it just a matter of coincidence?

You can go to the NOAA site (noaa.gov) and click on the climate at a glance link and browse thru over a 100 years of mean temps for a particular month and then compare hurricane activity for that year. You might wnat to open a second page to a hurricane climatology link that shows activity for a particular year.
1944 had a cool winter for the Northeast and an active East coast hurricane season.
