ITCZ

I know it's early but the latest is out on the ITCZ location as it enters the Atlantic Basin. It's is ahead of schedule and a bit further north than mean. Another hint at a busy season if the trend continues.

Nice find Aquawind. That is quite interesting and I wonder since it appears to be further north than the mean, if that will help abate the dust which was so prevalent last season. Only time will tell, but this bears watching and I hope you continue to post updates on this ever few weeks.

It's been a while since we had a long track Cape Verde storm, maybe this year we'll get one?

The make-up that Mother Nature is using this year, makes her look totally different than last year! I think Cape Verde storms are back in the playbook this season!!! 8-)

that far north reminds me of systems like isabel, fran, hugo, gloria... all of those as well know hit the east coast in the carolinas.. i am sure there are more but all were deep tropical systems and all seemed to originate near 15 north... might be something to watch closely through the season... just my un-educated observation... lol..

It seems this season the only aspect left to understand is the final position of the Bermuda High which will shape the path of most hurricanes and determine the fate of Florida and the rest of the East Coast.
