Birth of a Storm
At that time, the Gulf was swept clean.
It was bright with sunshine and optimism,
Hoping for a return of warmth and the eternal tropics.
Winds raged high above the waters, but
Light from heaven, shone upon tranquil seas.
The tempest waited within
Peace and hope,
As the seas embraced the warmth of the trades,
The thick atmosphere of Aruba then Costa Rica.
Not yet visible to the eye
But known, nonetheless,
By a greater surety and power,
Sensed by the common Heart of All,
She became manifest.
Like a mayflower, she heralds
A real changing of season.
Planted at the Gulf's gateway,
She grows and prospers
And brings much goodness and blessing.
Waters above and below rejoice
At her presence
And meaning.

I like it Aquawind lol. I posted one other poem a week or so ago "The Tropics", which got not a single response. But I was rather pleased with it because it was the first poem which I can ever recall writing. Back when I was in school, we spent most of our time diagramming sentences, not writing poems. Anyway, I thought I'd write another about this new system, about how it had been invisible, yet there all along if would could just recognize it. I think I like it better than the first poem. I guess the point is that observing these tropics is just "downright inspiring". I know many of you feel the same way.
