First confirmed power outage of the 2007 hurricane season

#1 Postby Jevo » Fri Jun 01, 2007 10:01 pm

Good game FPL...... currently 6500 people are without power in NW Broward County.. Im one of them working from a laptop and a Verizion Wireless Aircard...... hooray for me... have my portable lanterns on and mini fans out... there is currently no estimated restoration time...... My zip is 33066 and the reason is weather related outages... yayyyyyyyyy

LOL. I thought we'd be the first out here on Anna Maria Island since we have a horrid, thirdworld powergrid.

Heh, you dont say..
I was without power from 2pm to 6:30pm today here in boca.
The FPL tech said water intrusion caused a transformer failure which tripped out the whole neighborhood.
All this with, at the time, 5mph winds and 1/4" of rain.
Ahh, how I cant wait for a storm with actuall winds and localized flooding. :(

Jevo! You gotta get a Sprint card- that could be the problem :-)

Enjoy being one of millions who will lose their power this season. :-(

I have seen two transformer pops looking south from Coral Gables (UM campus). Magnificent specimens. A beautiful bluish-green.

It is soooooooooo hurricane season!

As much as I hate FPL, at least we still have our power. Of course after Wilma our entire neighborhood lost power for 3 weeks and every pole and line had to be redone. Hopefully we will keep ours all season.
