The article also said that the 3-6 inches of rain won't make much of a dent in the drought. It said that you guys in Fl are 30-40 inches behind in expected rainfall (not sure how far that goes back). However, we may expect, this system Mayflower (or Barry if you prefer), to be a harbinger of a shift in weather pattern over the state of Fl (at least I hope so). Thats usually the case, the storm is a symptom of changing seasons (both summer and hurricane) and I would hope that Fl will now begin to pick up a more steady influx of tropical moisture. On a lighter note, perhaps Mayflower will set "the desert to blooming" (speaking figuratively here). Fl had almost no spring moisture, and perhaps now, locals will see a sudden blooming of color across the state in response to "Mayflower".

Let's just hope you don't get the 30-40 inches of rain in one shot

If one crance can go in a 47mph wind gust, then I am very worried to see what happens in a full-blown hurricane. Hopefully this is a wakeup call!

BTW: I find it ironic this happens just a few weeks after we all discussed the possibility in another thread about south FL cranes. lol.
