This is the general tropical discussion area. Anyone can take their shot at predicting a storms path.

Shuttle will probably be a no go regardless of development, especially if there's still a huge blob right off the coast.

Looks like a LLC is forming near 30 north/79.8 west...But strong northwestly shear is shearing the convection away from it. CMC,GFS,UKMET fsu shows warm core.

There is an elongated circulation that stretches across Florida out into the gulf of Mexico.

That means its not well enough organized to be chantal. Also means the shuttle would have to deal with some low level winds over 20 Knots. Since the whole area is sinking south winds should be off the Atlantic by this afternoon bringing in moisture and clouds.

Still looks pretty dry this morning (for a tropical event).

This is an extratropical low pressure system, not tropical in any way. At least for now.

I say its a hybrid at leasted based on fsu data. But overall the shear moving into it is 30-40 knots. Which has sheared convection away from the LLC,,,which is at 29.8/79.9. Yes its pretty well defined I would say.

Strange but Accuweather is reporting the Shuttle lands at Edwards due to CApe weather. I'm not seeing it being reported on other new outlets.........
