NHC Proenza vs. forecaster Avila and the Feds...

#1 Postby Toadstool » Tue Jul 03, 2007 6:36 pm

Interesting article... Proenza has been trying to get funding to replace the QuikScat satellite (which is already on a aged backup transmitter) is being tested by the Feds... and Forecaster Avila has some negative things to say as well.

"'I go to the Publix supermarket and they know me and they say, `What's going on at the hurricane center? You can't make a forecast anymore,' '' Avila said. ``I have to tell everybody that I can make a good forecast."

I am afraid that I have to lock this thread because there is another one about the same theme posted earlier today.
