Wonder if amid the NHC hub-bub they forgot about worthless INVEST 96L.

In 10 years of doing this, I can't recall a time NRL ran an "active" Invest for 72 hours devoid any model initialization. No ATCF data since 0Z July 6. Can't get any Globals to jump on this but there it is still on NRL.

Not a big deal and they won't drop it until it is dead and gone. But 2+ days of virtually no convection and no global support. Just is odd.

This already has been a weird hurricane season

Do they create another invest if the 96L wave develops in the Pacific? The remnants of Earl in 2004 developed into Frank once they reached the Pacific.
